Radar Altimeter for Ultramicro Airplanes
Imrich, Marek ; Maršík, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
Radar equipment is an integral part of the aviation sector. It is very important to use a suitable module to guide ultralight aircraft during landing. The bachelor thesis is focused on the use of altitude radar based on the microwave sensor IWR6843ISK manufactured by TEXAS Instruments and its application in practice for ultralight aircraft. Its ability in conjunction with a computer is the altitude guidance of an ultralight aircraft to the runway by generating sound tones to indicate to the pilot the distance above the terrain. The main goal of this work is to design a model for the use of a microwave module in conjunction with a computer and its subsequent testing of the suitability for use in performing a landing maneuver. The aim of this work is to design a system that works with millimeter radar and its evaluation of usability in practice. The proposed module generates point clouds, which are then parsed, then the output data are suitably correlated, further transformed to the exact height of the aircraft above the terrain with subsequent sound interpretation to the pilot.
Digital thermometer form 0 to 50 centigrades
Horváthová, Ľubica ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the general classification of temperature sensors and the choice of one exact type of sensor, that is suitable for our application. In this thesis the block diagram of the digital thermometer is described as well as the specific schematic of the digital thermometer with the respective description of each component. Beyond the assignment, there is also the construction and testing of the proposed thermometer.
Comparison of specific expression in bacterial and yeast biofilms
Kicko, Peter ; Palková, Zdena (advisor) ; Lichá, Irena (referee)
The development and maintenance of biofilm is a complex process that is based on a change in genetic expression. The biofilm formation is observed in some prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. During its formation, cell aggregation occurs, extracellular matrix is created and we observe the formation of metabolically differentiable cells, often with increased resistance to antimicrobial drugs. This work focuses on important steps leading to biofilm formation associated with specific gene expression and highlights the similar and different processes between bacterial and yeast cells. The work begins by comparison of cell signalling, it continues by comparing the expression of the adhesive proteins and extracellular enzymes, synthesis of exopolysaccharides, formation of extracellular nucleic acid, and in the last chapter we focused on the formation of persistors. The aim of this work is to connect the acquired information and to contribute to the understanding the complexity of this process. Key words: biofilm, signalling, adhesins, exopolysaccharides, extracellular nucleic acid, persistor

Counterbalances: antagonistic regulation of fission yeast growth and proliferation under favourable conditions and stress
Hohoš, Patrik ; Převorovský, Martin (advisor) ; Groušl, Tomáš (referee)
Microorganisms come across dramatically changing conditions in the environment. It is important for them to be agile for a quick and effective response. Signal transduction pathways are essential for this ability. They can sense a broad spectrum of extracellular and intracellular stimuli and regulate a great number of processes in the cell. For unicellular microorganisms, the most essential ability is to sense environmental conditions for proliferation or abnormal stress conditions. One of the most popular model microorganisms, the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, is used for the signal transduction pathways research. Findings obtained by research on the fission yeast are applicable to other eukaryotic organisms, thanks to the high conservation of the signal transduction pathways between the fission yeast and other eukaryotic organisms. Proliferation-promoting signal transduction pathways promote cell proliferation, growth and mitotic cell cycle in fission yeast. The stress-response signal transduction pathways play an opposite role. They promote cellular defence against stress stimuli and promote the sexual differentiation process alongside meiotic cell cycle. At first sight, the whole machinery may look like a switch mechanism. There is, however, a more complex crosstalk mechanism...

Creative Commons (CC) organization released in 2003 six licenses, which take part of the copyright protection and let other parts fall in the public domain. Consequently, they lower the price of works for future works (inputs) and as an outcome increase creativity and number of works created. On the other hand, CC licenses can serve also as a substitutes to the pure copyright. This thesis examine the impact by analysing United States copyright registration and CC linkback data. The results show insignificance of CC licenses impact on pure copyright licenses. Based on the results I found weak evidence for complementary relationship between the two. Finally, I show that there is no difference between the types of CC licenses as an determinants of number of pure copyright licenses.
